hey. just to show you what i dont/didnt know- i globed onto the front suspension of my buddys wornout 84 mark VII. i always understood that the front suspension on the svo was lincoln but as i look at his upper and lower control arms they arnt even close to being the same. while he was not the original owner of the mark i know the original owner of my straight rum 86 svo and it is all original. so what gives?
also we might want to discuss the rear suspension also.
surely i am not the only ignorant( as opposed to stupid) svo owner in the world! please dont comment on that lst statement.
    thanks

Yeh i noticed the same thing! The linkcon has formed lower control arm while the SVO is more tubliar style! So they say they restyled the SVO control arm from the Linkcon? Now the rear brakes are very simliar. Just my 2 cents ?

The lincoln contintinenals, ONLY 82-83, shared the same front suspension as the SVO's. The same year car shared the same rear brakes as the SVO, not sure about the whole diff. Lincoln Mark VII's of later 80's vintage shared the same rear brakes also.

The lower control arms and struts on the Mark VII are not the same as the SVO. The Mark does use the same spindle and front brake assembly, as well as the rear axle and rear brake assembly as the SVO.

I also believe that the Mark VII LSC and SVO share the same front sway bar.
