Tempting fate, I decided to try the Autometer fuel rail fitting which replaces the Schrader valve one last time. As I was snugging it down it suddenly started to "spin freely" in the fuel rail. Seeing as this is my daily driver, I need to find a fuel rail ASAP, but I have no idea who sells them. I called up my Ford dealership and they said the pre-91 2.3l fuel rails are no longer in production. Will any year 2.3l fuel rail work as long as it is a return system?

Do I need any special tools to remove the lines from the rail?

I REALLY appreciate the help. Hoping I will only have to rent a car for maybe one day to get to/from work on Monday.

    Fuel Rail

Alan, any 87-88 Turbocoupe and xr4ti and i think even the N/A mustangs will have it. Everytime i go to the junkyard, i always see Xr4tis and Turbocoupes, mustangs and occasionally a carpi RS. Im almost positive youll see some. If not, just ask here, im sure theres folks who have some.

Yes you do need a fuel line disconnect tool. Same tool used to remove A/C lines. Go to Autozone or Napa and buy them, they are cheap like $10 at the most for a kit of different sizes. Very simple to use, trust me. It slides over the line like a ring and then you pull at the fitting and itr disconnects.

Thanks for the info. Found the tool and successfully removed my lines. Tomorrow we head down to the U-Pull-It to search for a fuel rail. In the mean time I am sporting an "uber sporty" Mitsu Lancer. I feel fast and/or furious driving it around.
