  • V8 springs?

I currently have the original springs in my SVO, but would like to increase the spring rate without lowering the ride height. Has anyone every tried swapping the springs from a V8-equipped later model Fox (87-93)?

    Thanks!

One of the popular mods for the v8 cars during the mid 80s was to put the 4 cylinder springs in a v8 car. The springs are progressive (tapered) and will compress a bit for a lower ride height but the overall spring rates remain the same.

I doesn't sound like the effect you desire even if reversed.

The first thing that came to my mind when reading this is--

the v-8's don't handle well with them, why would our cars

seriously tho -- It would raise the ride height, and I don't thing it would produce the desired result --

i think all the higher spring rate springs available are going to lower the car -- you might try contacting eibach, or another spring company and see what they have available --

Any reason you don't want to lower your car ??

I would like to keep it at stock height mostly because of fears of creating some bumpsteer problems, plus I don't wish to give up any wheel travel. Also, I run my SVO in Solo II G-Stock, so I can;t lower the car.

When I bought the car it had Eibach lowering springs on it. Looked great, but the OEM Koni's couldn't damp the springs enough. Now that I have upgraded to Koni yellows......<G>

If you want to stay within the rules, you aren't allowed to change springs at all. If you want more roll stiffness but don't want to lower the car and still be legal in a stock class go to a bigger front sway bar.
