  • ...suspension tool...

Well here I am again, since my son is the master mechanic in the house (he will be doing all the bleeding on my brakes) i have to help out somehow.
He is outing adjustable control arms in the rear of his Mustang 89(read $upermodified) because he is having wheel "hop".
The adjustable arms instructions call for a tool that they call "gravity angle gage" and they claim that this tool is available at "any hardware store"...lies!...lies! lol....nobody knows what I am talking about...
I know that someone here knows about this and can give us a direction on how or where to get this "easy to get" tool...
Thank you all for any help...

What the instructions are telling you to do is, adjust the pinion angle. I believe you can get pinion angle gauges/ tool from Summit or Jegs.

I don`t know all the procedures off the top of my head, but you set the gauge on the pinion flange to read that angle and then read the angle on the driveshaft to get the difference between the two. The car must be on a level surface to begin with so you don`t get false readings. Did they give a recommended angle?

I have a digital level/angle finder called a "handy tool". Similar items are available at hardware stores.

What they are talking about is an "angle finder". Sears has them. It has a round dial with angle markings every degree. It has a built-in 90* angle base with magnetic tape for hands free operation.

It is black with a white dial face and a red pointer. No motter how you spin it, the pointer always points to center earth.

        This is it.

...You are right and I believe that my son got this contraption from a fellow "Camaro friend"....I will get more info and posted if there is an interest on this....

Ralph .. this is a SVO only tech board. Please keep it that way. The corral.net or stangnet.net are places suitable for tech advice on all other year Mustangs.
