I have an HKS electroni valve controller that was installed on the car when I purchased it. Thee are two pigtail connectors coming out of the back of the control module that mounts in the dash. The smaller of the two is not hooked up. everything else seems to be intact including the valve controller and all of the boost control hoses to the turbo housing and the BPV. I do not know what kind of boost I was making as the gauge was not reading correctly upon purchase. I have fixed most of the gauges and other electrical items. Would you recommend trying to hook up the boost controller or just going back to the stock setup? Where can I find the correct parts to go back if that is the best way to go? OR where can I find the boost controller manuals or diagram to activate the HKS unit?

I'd recommend simplifying your life by selling the HKS to some ricer for big bucks and installing a gillis type boost valve. They are cheap and simple to install, less than $50. With what is left over you can buy a nice autometer guage. There are a couple of guys here who have installed an aftermarket guage in the stock location and it looks real good.
Search the web or here for Manual boost controller.Mike S

Re: HKS boost control
It is your car. If you want the stock performance then go that route. The gills is good as well as others. Check evilbay and see what the HKS sells for it is amazing what these guys are paying. i dont know why you wouldnt stay with the HKS. if it works and you didnt pay for it then what is the prob. the smaller acc wires are probably for the remote switching system. You can switch from a preset low and high and scramble mode. i think the remote sells for 100 or so. I have tried most manual boost controlers and I have had moderate sucess with all. I am looking for a little more precision. Before you scrap it go the HKS website and download the instructions. I am sure there are some PDFs you can get.Originally posted by Mustang Matt

Yes, because only "ricers" use electonic boost controllers.Originally posted by GAboySVO

The nice thing about electronic boost controllers is they virtually eliminate all boost spikes or creep. You want 14psi...thats what you will get.
If you are dead set on keeping the HKS, you may try checking out their website. Many manufacturers will have .pdf manuals available for download. A good friend of mine put a Blitz boost controller in his Mustang, only to find his directions were printed in Japanese. Went to the site, downloaded the US version, and all is well with the world.

Matt the only thing a/b the Gillis valve is that the spring does not hold up and sooner or later the valve will not hold max boost, atleast in my case. So I've installed a different spring in mine...a small spring from an A/T. But I'm gonna go to an electronic system as soon as I decide which Brand is best for my budget. But if it was me, I'd stay with the HKS because it will handle more boost better. Technology is better right? Just my 10 cents...my 2 cents is free

They do? Or is that just sales hype? My observations:Originally posted by Alan

1) I've seen a guy with all sorts of hot rod goodies have to reset his gillis valve whenever the weather/baro pressure changed. I'm not fond of going through that procedure with a fully manual valve.
2) The SVO originally came with an early form of electronic boost control. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
3) Whatever the latest and greatest electronic boost control is, the electrons still need a pneumatic signal. You can not completely eliminate the .25 to .35 second spike. Why the heck would you want to? Spike is your friend if not taken to extremes!

I went on the HKS website and could not find anything. I have a tech number to call so i will give that a shot. I am definitely missing part of the harness, zsix wires, it will not power up, everything else looks like it is hooked up. I will give it a shot, if I cannot find the directions I guess thatmakes my decision for me. Cant say no to a free toy, at least not yet.
