  • F#%^&g EGR tube

Is there any reason to keep the EGR tube. No matter how I twist it I still cant get it to sit right without interfering with either the oil line or the water lines. I know a lot of people block it off but is there a downside? (besides emissions)My county dosnt sniff.

      1) Your county may change emissions laws some day.

      2) You may move some day to a county that does check.

      3) The operating EGR won't hurt anything (in some instances it may help).

There was a recent topic on installing EGR tubes that went into more detail.

        Yes rods.

Right now I got it crossthreaded into the egr bung. I doubt it will leak. I am just concerned about stressing out the egr bung connection on the header. I would guess after a few heat cycles it will relax and sag like everything else.

It runs on vacuum. There is no feed back like the 5.0L.

            No prob......

Eric.......Tube goes right in.......Do you need a pic?.....Maybe something not lining up right versus your original setup....I thought the EGR was important to the 2.3 based on debate.....

              got it sort of

Like I said it is a new header and there is a litlte stress( ihave to force the egr valve to the intake. Pad gave me the Idea of adding some slight bends which seemes to work and hopefully after a few heat cycles it will take a set.

              thanks for the help Pat
