  • idle issues cont'd.

Since my last post, I have changed the IAC and TPS, and for the most part my '86 runs fine. But there is a problem that seems to surface with regularity: after a steady-state throttle run at various speeds, upon slowing down and idling the car it will either stay up in the 2k rpm range on its own or slowly increase idle speed, until I tap the accelerator lightly, at which point the idle drops to around 900 and stays there. Any ideas as to what is causing this condition? I don't think the throttle is sticking and the IAC was cleaned recently. Bad O2 sensor? Vacuum leaks? Should I just forget about fixing it and learn to enjoy the tap dance? Thanks in advance for all replies.
