I was wondering if the wiring of the stock '86 stereo is compatible with any newer factory Ford CD head units? I would really like to upgrade to CD and keep the factory-installed look. I'll see if I can get one in the dash and wire it up, and then worry about trying to convert it to red backlighting. Has anyone done this? I'd consider an aftermarket unit, but I simply cannot find one with the simple look I'm going for. I don't necessarily need quality sound in this car, I'd just like to listen to CDs, and don't want to "add" anything to the car (like an RF modulated changer).
