Coolant Overflow Tank Bracket

There is no question my bottle bracket is scaling rust like a Vega.
What did this thing look like back in 85?
Or does is really matter?
I'm thinking satin black.
Since I'm over in this corner of the car I might as well do touch-up work. Does it ever end? I think not.

Mine appears to be bare metal but may have some kind of zinc or cold galvanizing type coating. It's not the least bit rusted but I clear coated the entire engine compartment almost immediately after I bought the car ( 2R ). Some people may think this isn't a good idea but if you've ever seen my engine it still looks virtually brand new and it has 103,000 miles on it.

The one I have I got from Ken (above). It is black, needs a clen/fresh shot of paint. I have a T/C bottle (square bottom?)don't know if that matters...

Many of the overflow brackets were bare metal. Being sheet steel, they rust profusely. Satin or semigloss black looks better! A light silver gray looks much like bare steel and doesn't rust either.

As Eric mentioned he got my last one. It actually came from an 89 LX 4 cyl coupe as they share several underhood items with the SVO such as the overflow tank. I still have the tank from that car and it's in good shape. Not show quality but ok for daily use. If anybody wants it I want $10 plus UPS charges... Just thought I'd throw that out there.
