rust problem

while stripping my engine comparment I discovered rust under the battery on the frame rail were the sway bar braket attaches.

Is there a after market part? also I have 2 small rust holes on the driver side floor. Is there a small floor pan patch or does the whole thing have to be replaced?

I have the exact same problem. The whole drivers side frame rail on my car is just completely shot, the passenger side is fine. Mine is so bad that I bought a rust free parts car and I am going to pretty much replace the entire front frame rail and front support. I have some pics around here somewhere to show how bad it is. I hope yours isn't as rotted as mine. It's gonna be a PITA to fix this car up right.

yes I would love to see those pics if you have them. I do not think I have to replace the whole frame rail. After restoring a 65 k code convertible the body on this car is not as bad as that was. especialy the frame rails. Hope your swap goes smoothly.

definitly send the pics though I would like to see what I am up against.

That's scary man. I'm restoring a 66 a-code vert also. The floorpans,torque boxes and rockers are junk and have to be replaced. That will really suck and be a PITA to fix more than the SVO.
