  • anyone using a supercoupe intercooler?

I just picked one of these up the other day and I think I want to use it. Any ideas on how to front-mount it? I found a fan that covers most of core and flows 800cfm(!), so I'm thinking about using that on it too. I don't have the car here with me (it's still in storage) so it's hard for me to come up with ideas. I'd like to keep the stock radiator and fan if possible, so I'm willing to compromise cooling to keep from modifying the car too much. Details of anyone's setup would be appreciated.

    Super Coupe IC

A guy here in NorCal installed both the Super Coupe intercooler and radiator in his SVO but the intercooler is not yet plumbed.
In the Tbird the radiator is on the PS and the intercooler on the DS. This guy swapped the two positions to make the intercooler plumbing more direct. He said he had to fab up a radiator and IC bracket or two but it looked simple enough. It was a very clean looking install. I believe he used the SC fan and shroud as well.

I don't think there is enough space to mount the SC IC with the SVO radiator. I was looking into front mounting a Turbo Coupe IC a while back and it was going to require a narrower radiator to allow the IC to fit inside the core support and provide good air flow.
I found a barely used InterRad set up so I nixed the TC idea.

      i got one

I set it up in front of a smaller radiator, used some small angle iron and made brackets. It sets at a 45* in the lower part of the front. I press some aluminum 2.5" pipe in the holes cause I did not have the fittings for the ic. I have the rad, offset to the driver side so there is lot of room on the turbo side for the pipe.
Did all my piping with stainless 2.5 and bent 90* that I got from ebay. Would have done the aluminum but don't have tig setup for it.
Lot of flow compare to the tc ic. the out side of the ic is ice cold even when I had the ihi turbo on it.
No problem with the cooling of the motor air flow is great on the front.
Time to clean up the engine bay!
