  • My 85 svo

    i was wondering if some one could help me out with my 85svo? what the problem is i parked for a few months and now it is getting to much fuel and will not start very often and if it does start it idles about 1800rpm and will not start again after you kill it.WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!!!! HELP!!!!! it was fine when i parked the car.

    It sounds like your fuel pressure regulator is toast or your VAF is stuck.

    To check your pressure regulator, pull the vaccum line to the FPR and turn the key to the KOEO position. Check to see if you are getting any gas coming out of the FPR vacuum line when the fuel pump primes the system. Replace FPR if you do.


    To check the VAF, remove the air cleaner canister along with the rubber inlet elbow. Check to see if the flapper door swings freely throughout its full range. Heck while you are there, you might as well remove and clean the VAF using some electronic cleaner.

    Those are my first suspects, the injectors would be my next. Get some injector cleaner and run through it once you get it running.
