Well I just purchased an 86 svo that had not been driven much. Anyway yesterday I got on the brakes hard and the left caliper would not completely release. I got it off the highway asap but it was too late for the thing because it was already so hot it was smoking. I removed the wheel to help it cool and to make sure my caliper bolts were properly lubricated. after about an hour I was able to mist it with water to get it freed up so I could get it home.
I am fairly sure the rotor and pads are trash but I just wanted to hear ya'lls opinion to make me feel better. The rotor took on a red tint to it and so did the pads, I replaced the caliper and put it back together and the rotor is not warped at all. but It does not seem to stop as good as the right side.
What pads and rotors do you guys recommend for the purpose of autocrossing? I figure I will use the existing set up until my new stuff is ordered and arrives.
Thanks
Corey
