  • Polished Outer Markers

    Took the outer markers off and polished them up a bit. They turned out pretty well. I did notice though that my driver's side and passenger side are different in appearance. The "orange" reflector is darker on the passenger side then the driver's side. This leads me to think that one of them was replaced at some point prior to my ownership. I guess Ford went to a different supplier somewhere over the years.

    Anyways, here's a before and after:

          Jason,
          What did you use to polish the lenses?
          And does anyone know of way to polish scratches out of a windshield?

            Chris;
            I used a product called Detail Master DM 9000 Polishing System assortment. This kit contains the following micro-mesh abrasives:
            3200 Grit
            3600 Grit
            4000 Grit
            6000 Grit
            8000 Grit
            12000 Grit

            This is basically a plastic polishing sandpaper I've used in the past for polishing clear plastic for model airplanes. It also works well on painted surfaces such as model cars. You should be able to find it at any GOOD hobby shop.

            As far as polishing glass goes I would check out either Eastwood products or Griots Garage. They both sell products designed to restore glass.
