  • 86 needs saving

Guys, I have found a 86 gray in good condition with every thing there and running, except, the guy has put a 289 in it. He did not butcher up the wiring and the computer is still installed. I checked and the original clutch assembly and transmission is in the car. It is definelty a project car that is good condition but more than I would want to take on at this time. Has moon roof with cloth interior that is in good shape. I don't know what it will take to buy it yet, but if anyone is interested, please let me know and I will hook you up with the owner.
Owner indicated that he might sell the car without the good 289 in it. Ralph

I agree, the "where" part seems to get real expensive real fast for me.

My brother is still in the market for an SVO or a Turbo GT.

You guys would want him to buy one. He would buy it. buy every part it needs then sell it 10 years later having never acually driven it for less money then he paid for it

The car is currently located in Columbus, Georgia. It belongs to a guy that owns a body shop. He said he bought it to take it back to it's original condition, but lost interest after he found a mint Grand National.
He told me that he had 2200.00 invested in the car. He bought it from some guy in Atlanta two years ago. I drove the car myself yesterday and it runs out pretty good. I asked the owner if he would consider taking the engine out and selling the car without it. He said that he might consider that, but he wants me to make him an offer on ther car. He will not actually tell me what his bottom line is on the car with or without the motor. I think he really just wants somebody serious to step up to the plate and make him an offer.
All of the specific parts are there other than the engine and intercooler. If someone wanted a good car to start an svo restoration project that would need an engine anyway, this car is heads above many that I have seen that people are trying to restore.
I have three that I am currently working on various stages myself so I really don't need another project, but I know there are people out there that would buy this car if they saw it and the owner would negotiate a good price. I will ask the owner if I can take some digital pictures of the car and post them here soon.
If anyone is interested , call me at 706-660-8130. Ralph
