  • Paint question

I just got my car back from being painted ( Concept Urethane ), wet sanded, and polished but I can still see some fine scratches. What product can I use to finish polishing my car.
    Thanks

    Gary,

I have a black 300ZXTT that when I need to remove the swirls, I use the polish by Kit that comes is a yellow bottle. It is the best stuff that I have found to give my black car the "deep" look. Follow it up with some nice wax.

If you can still see some sanding scratches, it could be a few things. Either they used to coarse of a paper, didn't spend enough time with the different steps in polishing it or didn't use a good enough product. A buddy of mine paints motorcyles for a living and when he's done it looks like glass. He's out of town but I'll ask him on Monday he'll know exactly what product(s) to use. But if you paid good money for the paint job it should be done right by the painter.

More than likely they didn't do a good enough job wet sanding and compounding, I would take it back and have them redo it. I've used 3M products for years, and I've always used them after I wet sand and buff a vehicle. You just have to be very thorough when you do that step. Do not wax your vehicle either, assuming you just got it back from paint.

Don't get me wrong, the guy did a nice job but under flourescent light I can see very fine scratches on some panels. The car was painted about 2 months ago, but I just want to know what product to use, polishing compound?
            Thanks

Do you only see it under flourescent light? I know i've seen some spectacular paint jobs that when put under flourescent lighting showed some fine scratches.
