  • khumo 711 tire life

hey guys -- I have a set of khumo 711's on my car now, and I'm wondering what I can expect to see for tire life out of these -- I can't really find a mileage rating for them....

I know several of you oiut there have these tires, so I though i'd ask.

    Thanks

    Hey Eric,

The 711 Kumho has a treadwear rating of 320 which is very good. I have them on my car as well but have very little miles on them. I bought some kumhos for the wifes minivan which have lasted very well. I would guesstimate you getting 20,000 out of them give or take depending on driving and maintenance.
Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???

      & that maintenance.....

.........could be the key. Rotation, tire pressures & alignment would make the diff. The tire rack Eric might have some write-ups from people under that brand.....

I've found the treadwear ratings to be nearly worthless when comparing different companies...seems there must be no "standard" way to rate them.

From what I've seen...the 711's will go 15-20k miles if you are just "driving" and not having any fun

On the other hand, I've got a different brand of tire with 320 treadwear rating and I've got 35k miles on them and I've used them for autox, drag racing, etc.

How about you let us know what brand tire that is.

Well, they are Lee Ultra HPR's if I remember right...Made by Goodyear (they own Lee, Kelly-Springfield, and some others).

Eric. It got a set that I change around on my two cars. I was getting great life with them on my blue car about eight events with plenty of life left, but that car had some negative camber in the front end. When iI blew my head off and started using my black car for events without negative camber, they only lasted 1 and 1/2 events and obviously the 1/2 event sucked.
I am pleased with mine and I will buy them again. Ralph
