If anyone is looking for rocker panel moldings, it seems they are now being reproduced. Reproductions I saw on ebay, were polished aluminum and full length.
That means they will need to cut off and painted black for the SVO. Full price seems to be $99 for the pair. Check you local supplier.
The same rocker moldings were also used on the 83-84 Mustang GLX models. I've pulled a couple of sets off of 83 convertibles in the wrecking yards this year. They are out there if you keep your eyes open!
I think they go back to 79 but only on the dressed up versions of the cars. By 86, I doubt it was used on anything as the GLX went away.
It's much easier to cut and paint some new ones than trying to fix some old ones.
It's probably another one of those parts that are not easy to find. Fortunately there is at least another option. If anyone buys the repros, let use know how they fit.

I'm not sure they were used on anything other than the SVO after 1984.
It is true they are not easy to find on other cars, but they are out there if one bothers to look.
I suppose how much effort it takes to install them and clean them up depends on the condition they in when taken off the donor car.
Both sets I found were in very nice shape, came with the used clips and they are genuine Ford parts.
