  • newby style outer tierod question

I only know the "I think I read somewhere" stuff on this, and need you guys to help me.

So, here's where I am. The car does have a little play in the front end, suffers from bump steer which I believe is a hint tie rod ends are going bad. Boots are completely shot. Steering wheel is turned 10:00 position (to the left) as I cruise down a straight road.

Can I replace these, or an alignment shop? SVO specific parts I should go purchase? Can I get these parts from Ford by ordering them from say a Lincoln or another car that isn't going to have the SVO price tag?

If someone would give me their recommends I'd like to take care of this this week.

    Thanky!

It sounds like you car mostly needs a alignment...

If your car isn't lowered, bump steer shouldn't really be much of a problem. Normally bump steer occurs when you lower the car, and change the ange that the arms come off the rack.

The SVO replacment tie-rod ends shouldn't be any more expensive than any other tie-rod ends... I replaced one on my rack, I believe it was $14, for a moog replacments.
