Another one of these came apart today on a friend's car. I'm just saying this to suggest that you keep a new one in your spare parts collection.

I have installed two new ones in my cars this year and both of the new ones have dead spots already that are window and radio function related only after a couple hundred miles.

A quick kluge trick if you don't have a spare is to keep a wire tie or two in the car to wrap it back together so that you can limp home.
