Down pipes

what is the largest, or best, down pipe for the 2.3? I have fabricated a 2-3/4" integral with 3" run out the back. Have there been any problems with a DP over 2-1/4" ? I get a lot of boost fluxuation, but that can be a million other things.

2 3/4" is not to big at all, many people including myself run 3" downpipes on these cars and some run even 3 1/2" downpipes.

3.5 inches with the stock turbo?

This is easily one of the most impressive 4 cylinders I have ever had the pleasure to drive. I am still in the "spring cleaning mode", and appreciate all of the feedback I have been getting from this site.

The best exhaust for a turbo motor is no exhaust...next best is as little restriction as possible...
