  • E3 on 85.5?

did some 85.5's come with E3's? because I read some where that some one said theres had an e3, so I went to go look at my car this morning and the numbers on the side of it started with an E3. I will get the whole # tommorow, if some one could help me out with the part # of an E3 and an E6 it would be much appreiciated.

    E3

My 85.5 is an unmolested 65k mile car (other than by my own doing which is limited to mechanical repairs). I'm the third owner. All original exhaust and it has an E3 on it. It was built in the last few days of 85.5 production.

Very few cars, even 86s, had the E6. Remember that the E6 wasn't even supposed to be used until 1987, but in typical Ford fashion, earlier models here and there get the new part.

                  E6

                  My 1986 SVO came with a E3 - 12-4-85 build date. I would ASSUME all 1985.5's came with a E3.

My 85.5 built on 8-31-85 (last day of 85.5 production) originaly with an E-3 manifold. My car is the same deal as Pat's-low mile and I've done all the mods to it, so I know the E-3 was original.

My 85.5' TC had an E3 on it. I'm not sure when it was built(the door sticker was missing). My 86' TC has an E6 on it and it was built in Feb. 86'. Two of the three 86' SVO's had the E6's on. I'm not sure when the 86' 1E was built but I know nothing was changed on it. The 86' 2A didn't have an engine when I got it. My present 86' 1C was built Sept. 27 85'. I'm not sure if someone changed it, cause they tried to use something to seal the back half of the turbo(some bolts broke).
