  • What would it take?

Because I have been unable to locate a single SVO wheel...

I'm going with a set of 2003 Cobra wheels...What will it take to make them fit?

I was planning on rolling the fender lips to allow for 245/45/17's

Is this the extent of modifications that will be necessary? Do i have to do anything to the A arms or axles?

I haven't seen anything in previous posts in regards to modifications to the body to allow for these wheels...is that because it can't be done, hasn't been tried, or is unnnecessary?

    Huh?

Leadphinger, there are lots of SVO wheels FS both on the forum and that other evil auction site. I found an NOS set right here off the SVOCA from Don. There are lots out there. Did you post looking for them? I have an extra set that are rough but no curb rashes, that I may get rid of down the road. At present they're under "Project Bondo" right now, but I'm going to go aftermarket on that car. Where have you been looking?

Well... I've seen your requests but haven't responded because I'm not sure if I have one or two wheels in my stash. The one I know I do have for sure has a very minor ding in the inside bead that never leaked air and can be easily fixed. Since I owe several others folks stuff already ( as usual ) I didn't want to over commit myself even further. BUT... since Hurricane Ivan is going to keep me inside for a few days I'll see if I can dig a good second wheel out provided you're willing to wait for alittle bit longer... ??? If I've got one how about $25 plus shipping?

        $25 plus shipping sounds fine.

I'd much rather go stock on this bad boy n e way, and waiting...I have no problem with waiting a week or two. I will be refinishing the wheels semi-gloss black if I can get one.

let me know what shipping will be to 90066, thanks

Black wheels , hm interesting. You'll have to let us see that when you're done. As far as putting 03 Cobras it has been discussed in the "Will these wheels fit" thread, but here is a quick breakdown of things you would need to do.
          Front:
          Fox length control arms
          SN95 front brake swap (spindles,hubs,rotors,calipers,lines)
Front struts for a 87-93 Fox
          Caster/camber plates
          Rear
          Fox length axles
Either do the bracket flip to use your stock calipers or SN95 rear brakes using North Racecars brackets.
You might also have a clearance issue with your quad shocks.
          Hope this helps.

Here is a picture of my car with black wheels. I had a set that looked like crap so I painted them glass black. I think it looks like crap but it could be the color combo with the car. Later on I tried to remove the paint and it was near impossible with sand paper. It was literally baked on by the heat of the rotors.

I thought it would look cool...I owned a RX-7 10th aniversery with the all white look (white car with white wheels). It worked. I dont think this does but it's your car.

The whole thing for me with black wheels is going with a bi-chromatic color scheme, w/ black wheels to tie the trim in with the rest of the car, as well as give the illusion of much larger wheels & tires at rest, because its difficult to tell where the wheel stops and the tires begin...wider than stock tires on black rims looks very nascar, tough. Call me crazy but I love the no non-sense look of it. To say nothing of how well they hide dirt!

You could save me the trouble of painting mine and negotiate for the three I have...they look like crap but they aren't black....shrugs

                  Stock SVO Wheels

I am pretty sure Wheel Worx (in Maryland) has an extra set of beautiful SVO wheels just sitting in their shop. I saw em back in May. Give them a call.
