  • CAUTION: Buffing your car CAN be hazardous to your health

Good news -- Buffing my car today -- there are places that buffed out with 1500, then 2000 paper then 3M buffing compound (for clear coat) that I never thought would come out..

here is where the caution part comes in ---

temp today is 94, plus about 75% hummidity, after buffing about half the hood, I quit, because i was about to pass out!!!
DANG!! don't try this at home, unless you have a air conditioned garage!!!

      passing out

Oh, and if you feel like your ready to tip over and pass out while buffing, lean away from the car so you don't put full body weight on the buffer. Not only could this shoot you in the direction of rotation, but also leave a real nice burn in your paint, which do not come out..LOL

Yeah, it was hot and hummid here too. Buffed my Mom in laws car and gave both of them oil changes.

They are both Old's but one has the "4 Tech" in it. Can you believe the oil filter goes INSIDE the oil pan???? I looked forever for that stupid thing!

They have a painted garage floor and I was so sweaty and slimy I did not even need a creeper. I was able to just slid right under the car on my back!

ahhh.. there is where yours was easier...

you did it in a garage.

I can't get my car into my building, so I was trying to do the shade tree version.

I STILL havn't finsihed buffing my car out... But this weekend, I did buff out the back hatch, and put my lower wing on.

My upper has issues, so it's not ready to put on yet..

I'll get it done, one panel at a time

One of these days, I'm going to get a garage, and be able to do this stuff inside!! (SOON I HOPE!)

Well, the oil changes were in the garage. The buffing was outside, but it was easyier because I was doing old paint, while you were doing new paint. So no wet sanding for me. The stress of burning it alone must have even made you more tired! Nothing makes you get an inch away from the paint and find every single little flaw like buffing does!
