  • leak at rear window

I have a leak at the top of the rear window. I am thinking it would be best to remove the rear window and have the gasket replaced. Does the bi-wing have to come off to remove the glass (it looks like it overlaps the trim)? If so, is there any trick to taking it off? I could remove it and then take the car to a glass shop to have the leak fixed. I would like to get this done before the rainy season starts so I can continue driving it this winter.

There is no "gasket" as in the older mustangs. These windows are a "glued" in with a ureuthane (usually) sealant. You will need to remove the bi-wing. As for the trim get the trim removal tool for the clips, as I beleive the trim is no longer available. I used to be pretty good at popping it off with a 2" putty knife, but now I have a trim tool. Hope this helps.
