  • Traveling from the Mid-Atlantic Area

Okay folks....we need to start firming up some times and locations to meet. I spoke with RICH tonite and this is what we're thinking:

    1) Depart Thursday morning
    2) We're planning on meeting on I-81 Southbound just past the I-70/I-81 intersection in Hagerstown, Maryland. There is a rest stop a few miles South past this intersection on I-81S.
    3) We're shooting to meet around 9AM EST.
    4) Get as many SVOs (driven or trailered) in one big convoy.
    5) Have your Motorola Talk-abouts ready. Channel 5/5. (Chris; I have one you can use if you don't want to buy one).

Lets see if this link works:

I ask that those wanting to meet up to post here so we can kinda get a tally on who to look for.

    Thoughts or suggestions welcome!

    YEAH - C'MON!

      Jasan,
I have no idea what a Motorola Talk-about is. Sure I'll take one.
Thursday is good, time is great! If you wanna meet here at my joint (driveway) at 7:30 that's fine too!

          Can do....shouldn't be a problem. I take 29N to I-70 anyways.

I will be staying at the Hampton Inn Hagerstown - Maugansville on Wed. night. Correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at the map it looks like the meeting point is about 10 to 12 miles south of the hotel.
I have my Talk-about all charged up.
Who knows, maybe I'll even wash and wax the SVO!
            See you there!

Are we planning on taking I-70 west route like MapQuest suggests
Or did you have an I-81 south route planned?
                Just curious?
Also I was thinking there is no need for you to come down my lane. (turn around thing for you and Mr Trailor)
Why not just meet at the end of my lane on Mt Hebron Drive at 7:30, and we just swing on out. We'll be in Hagerstown by 8:30 no problem.

Chris - good point!! I hadn't really looked at the directions until you said something. There really is no easy route with I-81S. I say we go with the Mapquest directions. That looks like that same route I took last year. I think I was getting that route and the one I took to the 40th confused.

Let me work it a bit.

Dana - which one are you staying at? I see two addresses listed for Hampton Inn.

                    A) 18300 Peak Cir
                    Hagerstown, MD 21742

                    B) 1716 Dual Hwy
                    Hagerstown, MD 21740

                      New meeting place

Okay gang. Recommend we meet at the hotel that Dana is staying at. This will allow us all to meet prior to heading out as well as coffee/restroom breaks.

Also - recommend we go with the directions that Chris linked in this thread. Looks pretty striaght forward. Thoughts?

                        Directions to hotel

I like that idea even better!

I'm registered at the 18300 Peak Cir. address.

The map shows it to be exit 9 off of I-81.

Why not meet at the Hotel before the I 70 intersection with us guys at 9:00?
                              If its not too late
