I was wondering if the Interior color of the SVO was the same as the charcoal of the reg. Mustang? I need a seatbealt buckle and a dashpad, so I was going to try and find one that came off of a reg. Mustang instead of an SVO if it would match.
any info is appreciated.

I gotta have the seatbelt buckle. The Seatbelt won't even hold tension because the little bar is flopping around in there. I'm a little scared to drive with it like that.

Pre-86 mustangs shared the same buckle. I found two in the JY for $6 out of an 82 I think. Same color/part number as my 84 buckle.
Jeep CJ7s have a buckle that works as well. Not sure about the electrical connector for the driver's side, but the buckle fits and latches. Color may not match either.

If you are talking about the metal piece inside the buckle that allows the belt to side, then the fix is easy. Ford had a recall for that. There was a white plastic piece that is easily seen from the back side. It holds the metal bar in place. The recall replaces the non-UV resistant white plastic piece with a black piece. I just had the recall done on my 85 Capri at the local dealer for free. The parts cost about $10 if the recall was already done. You can also call the Ford number (same as the History 999 report) and have them check to see if all the recalls have been completed.

Yea, that little white piece is whats missing. I temporarily fixed it with some electrical tape, but that won't last long.
What's the History 999 report?

The history 999 report is a short letter from Ford listing the options that were ordered on the car new by VIN. A few things are usually not 100% correct like tires or interior (confused with GT options?). For the most part it's pretty nice and Free! Do a search and you will find the 800 number here some place. Takes 3-6 weeks to receive it in the mail. It should work for all Ford products and the recall info too. Ford outsourced this job but it seems to work pretty good now.
Looking thru the 3" binder full of SVO stuff and reciepts I found a History 999 Report ordered by the previous owner. It doesn't say anything about the Sunroof and it says that it has cloth interior.
What's up with that?
