  • Restoring the Windshield

Over in the REUNION post "rschonegg" refers to a conversation I was having with Mr Pink about cleaning our windshields, over lunch at KFC on Saturday.
Have you ever noticed that your new wipers still don’t squeegee like they should, or they quickly start to not work as well? Over the years the glass can get gook on it that needs to be scrubbed off. The best method is using a better cleanser than spray stuff. Use BON AMI, a kind off scrubbing powder. It is usually next to Comet or Ajax in the cleaning aisle at your grocery store. (see pic)
Get some of this stuff and a nice stiff bristle brush and scrub your windshield like it was your bath tub. It will not hurt paint but keep that exposure to a minimum, just the glass. I had read about this on a detailer’s page and it works great.
DO NOT USE COMET or AJAX or any other cleaner. They may scratch the glass!!!

If you can't find Bon Ami cleanser, Soft Scrub (without bleach) also works well!
