Strange Tailights

On an 84 SVO I saw the normal pinstriped tailights, however it did not cover the clear reverse section of lense. I ask owner if they had rubbed the lines off of the reverse section and they said no thats how it came as it was a very early build (oct 83).

Is thier any truth to this?????

I have a 10/83 bd and it has stripes on the reverse section. Me thinks something is not right on his.

My 84's have the black pin striping over the reverse lens. I bet if you looked closer, you could touch and feel the pinstriping tape where someone installed it over a non-SVO lens.

My car is a 11/83 and I had the stripes on the the reverse lights. I dont know?

My car was built 10-83 and has stripes. I have never seen anything other than that.

My old car was an 17/83 car and I remember the stripes went over the reverse area too.

What we need is a car with a 9/83 build date and running the original tailights. Anybody out there got one?
