Part of my future ugrades include an EEC setup. Will the MoTec M4 meet my needs? Has anyone esle done this upgrade? How much was the cost? If the M4 is not suitable could anyone give me some suggestions? Questions-Questions-Questions

    WOW!

Well BigNBlue... Never did I think this specific question would pop up any time soon, but that is exactly what I have on my car right now!

I assume you have been to the website and reviewed the specs and capabilitys of it? Let me first start off saying that it has NO problem controlling my 160pph. injectors @ a 1,200 to 1,300rpm. idle... My car has made a best of 523rwhp. with it on Sunoco Maximal 116 fuel. Do you really have the need for such a system?

Ahhh, costs. Let me just say that I have about $3,000.00 in the MoTeC M4 and tuning right now. I decided ( god forbid ), to go sequential with it and had to buy 4 seperate coils, modify my distributer, and add a crank trigger wheel to the mix.

What are you building??? I`m sure I can send you in the right direction to meet your performance needs, but I need more info

      Motec

I guess my first question would be:What exactly do you want to achieve? Also what H.P.#'s are you shooting for?
I do know that a week ago I had a customer that helped his friend swap out a Motec, they then installed a TEC3. The TEC3 allowed them to gain 75hp/90ftlbs to the wheels!! This was on a single turbo Supra(early90's?) With the TEC3 you are able to control each individual injector pulse. Also you have available a TPS/MAP blend table that will allow you to install injectors that with other systems can cause low speed/idle problems(read large). With the blend table you can finite tune your injector pulse. The TEC3 is more money than the EEC Tuner, less money than the Motec.Although the SDS,EEC Tuner are less money they don't offer the tunability/graphic interface that the TEC does. If you have any other question feel free to email me. I am an Electromotive dealer(TEC3) and would be willing to discuss the possibilty of a group buy.

Well now BigNBlue, you now have 2 different options on systems, although i`m glad Black86 didn`t say TEC-11... I had one with mixed results to say the least. I haven`t been able to pin it down to bad wiring, electrical interference or improper alignment of the planets , but I`m very happy with the MoTeC.

Now as far as this gentleman finding 75 rwhp. over the MoTeC is bull**** plain and simple on a system to system basis. It is ALL in the tuning and the tuner. Maybe I didn`t have the right folks working on my car ( this would include Electromotive ), but they were never able to get rid of my mysterious stumble in the lower rpm. range and after 4 or so dyno days ( read $$ ) and many attemps, it was decided to switch systems. We had the MoteC dialed in 4 hrs. later to achieve said rwhp. Not to mislead anyone, but it was a real challange at first getting dialed in, but in the long run it was very well worth it.

I know Electromotive has had some very succesful cars and record holders in there portfolio ( I`ve seen all the pics on the office walls ), and they tried to be very helpful with my then dilema, but the end result was much less than expected. I`m sure the TEC-3 has come a long way. BTW, how much is a TEC-3 for ecu, wiring harness and sensors going for these days?
