Cowl grill cover

Does anyone know if there is any difference in the 87-93 cowl cover, vs the 79-85 ??

I don't think there is, but I think I have seen different part numbers. and I believe the SVO had the 79-85 ones ... ???

I have one from an 87-93 on my 86. 99% sure they are all the same.

I'm not sure when they changed from 79' and up but, the 79' is different from the later ones. A friend of mine had a 79' parts car. He took the cover off to save for his 93' Cobra. It had an extra screw in front of it, with the 6 going in from the top. The 79' cover didn't fit right with the Cobra.

It does not make sense, one listing shows 83-93 @ $50, the other shows $90.

One is a Ford part and the other is a reproduction. Makes sense to me.

BTW - the reproduction is for the 79-93 (what I call a catch-all). The actual FORD piece appears to be listed on their site as FORD had it listed, a 83-93 part. Suppose it WILL fit a 79-82, but maybe something was slightly different on the older ones and a new tooling was made - thus - the year application difference.

That's my best educated guess.

79 through 82 is 27 inches long and the 83 through 93 is 32 inches long. They are slightly angled so the dimensions are approximate. Hope this helps.

The reason I was after this info -- I'm going yard hopping tomorrow, and I need to know which ones to go after.
