  • Paintless dent removal

A drunk a$$hole on a bicycle swiped my SVO a while back and left pedal/handlebar marks down the drivers side and snapped my mirror off.

The black marks buffed out but there is a mild crease (you can see it if the light is at shallow angles) behind the sail panel.

Has anyone tried paintless dent removal and is it only for round door dings? Can they massage this 6-7" light crease out without sanding/filler/paint?
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

Paintless dent magicians need to be able to get their "Magic Wands" to the back side of the dent. Easy enough to do on doors and front fenders, but when there's an interior panel in the way, they'll ask you if you'd OK their using a small hole saw on the interior panel go get access to the back side of the dent.

If you want to see these guys in action, hunt down a wholesaler's auto auction. Many small dents on rental cars going up for auction get fixed before being loaded on the car carriers for delivery to the used car lots.

Many PDR Dent Wizards prefer to shy away from older cars. The newer paint is less likely to crack or chip as the metal is being massaged. As with many other things, the tools are only as good as the craftsman using them (Example: A thorough person with a tape measure, string , and 4 jackstands can do a better alignment than a moron with a computerized laser alignment rack).

Well, nobody is going at my interior with a holesaw. I was hoping it would be one of those things a heat gun and some creative trim removal for access could fix.

Depending where behind the sail panel the crease is, they can get to it. There are quite a bit of openings back behind there.

The only way to tell is by removing the inner 1/4 panel plastic, and to do that you have to remove the rear seat but you might be able to get away with taking off all the screws & upper seat belt bolt and carefully bending the plastic 1/4 down.

Sorry to hear the news. I am going to need PDR for the GF's 93 LX Vert due to an unfortunate incident and the trunk. and it was inadvertantly my fault.

          To clarify...

They'd remove the plastic interior panel, drill a 1 inch hole in the inner sheet metal, do their work, install a rubber plug where the hole was made, and reinstall the plastic interior panel.

They might use the suction cup tool, but you have to ask them what to expect.
