Does anybody have any engine compartment photos that they would be willing to share? I am removing an engine from my SVO for painting and would like some photos to make sure that I am putting things back together correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The vehicle was in a somewhat dissassembled condition when I purchased it. It was able to run, but I had to replace a few hoses and repair some wiring. I will be removing the engine so that the engine compartment can get repainted when the core support and inner fenders are painted. Because I have not woked on the vehicle extensively before it went in for the body work, I am not familiar with the location and the way underhood items are laid out. I also have no way of knowing what parts are missing. The guy that I purchased the vehicle from did give me some spare parts and the vehicle did run, but it has not been street driven since the purchase. What I am looking for is pictures of the underhood arraingment of hoses, wiring and other components.

Engine Compartment
EDog, what year SVO pictures do you want? If it is an 85.5 or 86 I will make pictures of the 1986 26 mile car and send via regular emai.
Send me a PM with :
1. General description of the shots you need, especially closeups
2. Your regular email address
3. Whether you are on a regular or hi-speed connection
4. Phone number for good measure
Note: If you are on a hi-speed net, I will send aprox 8X10 high resolution pics.
PS. The same goes for any SVOCA member that might need or want a shot of an unmolested original. I'll even get Mark to crawl underneath for some closeups.

Edog,
I've just been thru this, and your right, if you don't take it apart, you don't know what your missing.
I have a 86 car that I took pictures of every step of the way. It was completely low mile/original so I knew that as I put it back together it was right. I even looked at other low mile cars in person and at pictures to verify that what I was doing was correct. It takes a lot of research and time - but if your interested in it like I was, it's a lot of fun.
I thought I knew every single part under the hood, but people here will tell you that I still needed help. Like the fat washer that attaches to the head/bracket that supports the A/C - thanks Mike!
If you have a 86, the 84/85 is somewhat different, I can help you as well as others here as you work your way thru the re-install.

Do the letters in your avatar say Milkshake or Mechanic?
But I should have known better...she's wearing too much clothing to be Brittney
