I want to buy a cheap code scanner for the car. I did a search under code scanners I didn't see any brands except snap on which I know I cant afford. Does anyone have any recommendations on cheap code scanner that works well with our cars. Thanks X

Depends on your defination of cheap..I recently bought an AUTOXRAY unit from AutoBarn (also available from Eastwood, but more expensive there) that reads OBDI, OBDII, and CAN, the one I have is the 6000 unit, reads the codes on my 86 SVO nicely and cost around$550.00, however they make cheaper units, do a google for AUTOXRAY code scanner or go to Autobarn.com

I had heard there was one available from AutoZone for like 40.00 bucks. I hear different things on if they are useful or not. Thanks X
