  • New Exhaust system

OK, so I gonna bring up something that I know has been covered before, exhaust systems. I need a new one. Mine is in bad shape, it appears that the previous owner maby took it off and put it back on several times, and it is welded up in quite a few places. Who makes a good system?? I have read all the posts, and it appears that it comes down to the ATR system or the Mangaflow. I know that Motion Dynmanics sells the ATR, however from what I read the ATR is a poor fit. I don't have clue as to who sells the Mangaflow. anyone know where I can get one. I got a quote from a local custom muffler shop here is Dallas for a 3" down pipe, high flow cat, and a 3" system back through the mufflers, then neck down to 2-1/2" pipes out the back. (seems that 3" pipes out back are about $200.00 each). got a quote of $750.00 for this system, this is not a stainless system. Any suggestion on where to get a system??

There are a ton of places that sell the Magnaflow catback. I've seen them priced as low as $360 at times, although the running price seems to be $430. Just order the one for an 86 GT.

before you order, you need to understand that this is not a directo swap -- The ATR is the only direct swap I know of.

This new cat-back will have to be cut, and re-weleded to work on your SVO...

Sac Mustang Downpipe, 3" MAC cat back.

        ATR sucks.
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

I agree with ya ben -- but I don't want skeeter to think he can go buy any GT cat-back, and bolt it right in.

            Good point.
I should also mention that I bolted the downpipe in myself, but when it came to installing the cat-back, had a professional do it.
It was $40 and he did a wonderful job. You can't put a price on no leaks, rattles or interference when going over bumps.
