  • Max PSI oil return

I dunno if you guys know about this piece, so i figured i would drop a note here about it.

Its a bit pricey ( $60.00 with the flange ) but I gotta tell you that I have cracked 2 of the stock POS return lines and I was even more sick of what a pain in the @$$ the stock pieces are.

So i tried this piece, and Im not even joking when I say that it took 20 minutes to install. Normally with the stock line, it would take me an hour and that doesnt include the 3 temper tantrums I would throw in the process.

I picked this piece up, and Im telling you now that I will NEVER go back to the stock return line...thats how EASY this Max PSI unit was to install !!

Just so ya know...I even have 2 of the stock T3 pieces sitting on my shelf...and i still bought the Max PSI return line.

Once the 1D is ready, i will be buying another. Good stuff, and well worth the money !!

Huh...then I guess it will only take you a fraction of that 15 minutes with the Max PSI unit....

    :p

I'd like to see it done in 15 minutes. Maybe if the motor isn't it the car you might could do it. Especially not with the stock oil return line

I can attest to the stock return line being a pain in the *** to remove and replace.

What G dog didnt tell us was he uses studs on the tubo side. It makes instaling the lines a real cake walk.

Henson has one and I have a couple. I got them from Joe Morgan a while back. They are reselling Joe's fuel rails. The rail is set up for your choice of outlets, depending on alternator location clearancing (Pinto applications had the alternator on the other side of the engine). Forced4 got me a deal on a remote universal AFPR that they usually do not keep in stock. It took a while but was worth the wait.

I sold my non-used oil line to Roger for a ‘SVOCA Henson Member friendly discount’. (Pay your dues) I don't exactly understand why but the thing did not match up for me. Though I'm pretty sure it's my motor and turbo configuration differences. Also I could install it in 15 minutes with the tools lined up on the floor, you other guys are drinking beer when you should be working.

I personally am going to install an AN welded oil flange with an AN-NTP into the block. Just remember once you go AN you don’t go back. This is sometimes a curse.

Well it's time for me to weigh in on this one. I read the reviews and it looked like a nice product so I bought one...even though my stock line was fine. But I was fixing some issues with the turbo and would have it off so this looked like a no brainer.

Everything looked good but this line just wouldn't fit...it seemed just a hair short of wanting to go on and it was giving me fits....Agreed the engine side as mentioned before should go on first but when I finally got it on after just starting the threads on the block side and fighting with the turbo side it has what appears to be a kink in the line and I cannot install the factory support bracket for the turbo without cutting one side off...this is the ONLY way I could get this line attached. I called and left a message for Scott at Max PSI a week ago followed up with an email expressing that I was having trouble with the product and gave my cell and shop number and asked him to please call anytime. I know first hand how busy one can get so I was patient.....but to date I have had NO return call or email. IMO no matter how busy one is you should at least follow up with a customer who has a problem with the product to try to help.

I did finally get it installed, fired the car and no leaks....however, now I think it's a restriction as my car after warm up smokes like a freight train which seems like the oil is backing up into the turbo could be the cause since I didn't have this problem before. It seems to me like a 45 degree fitting would have been a better fit....as it sits now the line looks kinked(why I believe there is a restriction) and I can't use the original support bracket.

So, as I sit now I have never received a response and I ordered parts to make my own line to attempt to fix this....so this $60 purchase was a waste of money for me and I now have nearly $100 invested in trying to make it work. I bought this for the ease of installation and not have to worry about it... Now this morning as I spend time working with it I find that the fitment problem is due to my block being a non original turbo block...the 2.5 has been in the car for more than 4 years now and removed from another car so it never dawned on me....however some customer service and a conversation probably would have saved me a lot of aggravation(2 heads are better than one)! In the end I had to reinstall the original line as it was installed previously and I have a line kit that is pretty much worthless since the line kinked which could have been avoided had I gotten a response...it was only after a complete lack of response for 3 days that I gave up and finished the install.

So after all this I give Max PSI an B for effort on making the part but they Failed miserably when it came to service after the sale as far as customer service. I gave them a B because I think the quality of the braided line could be better as it should not kink so easily(it started doing this during the install in my hand while trying to get the fitting started).

I tried a aftermarket braided line also, same problem. After wrestling with it for a few hours got the old one off and the braided on fired her up and instant smoke fogger. Took it back off, put old leaking one back on, all okay, except the leak. Found a NOS return line on the bay week later, all is good. My .02 about braided return lines...
