  • anyone ever try Fuzion tires?

I'm shopping for summer-only performance street tires for the SVO. I thought my decision was between the Kumho 712s and the Yokohama AVS ES 100s, but I've heard a lot of bad things about both tires, both from friends and on random forums. I was looking at tirerack and the Fuzion ZRi seems to be a high-rated tire with a price between the Kumho and Yokohama. At first I passed off this brand as a crap tire for ricers, but now I'm intrigued. Anyone have experience with these?

I've always used tirerack.com to reasearch price, treadwear, reviews, temp and traction ratings. It's a wash on shipping vs. sales tax usually so I've always found a local dealer to buy from.

Tire compounds change so frequently that I don't buy brands as much as I buy traction and tradwear for the money.
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

there was a guy at one of the auto-x's I attended last year with a stealth running the fuzions -- he loved them, he told me about them like 4 times! -- his times weren't any quicker than my khumos

I have had excellent luck with the Kumho MX (currently on my SVO), Falken FK-451 (best dry/wet tire on my Cobra), and was very impressed with the new Hankook Ventus R-S2 (next street tire on the SVO, equal to or better than the MX and is $82 each) this weekend on a '89 5.0L.

I have run the 712's and the ES100's. IMO, the ES100's were terrible. They wore fast and were very noisy. The 712's were better, I liked them in the rain. I am running Kuhmo 711 245/45/16 right now and love them. Old school style tread and they handle great. They have good cust. ratings on Tire Rack. They are cheap too, $57 ea. for a VR rated tire. Downside, I just called TR because they were not list and they said they were discontinued but they have another batch coming in may 6, I may order another set just to have.

I running the 235/45/17 fuzion. Seems like a good tire.
Doesn't shake at any speed and seems pretty sticky.
I still have not found the DRY limits of this tire on the street.
I don't drive in the rain so I can't help you with that.
I wish I would have got the 235/40/17.
