I just got my downpipe this week and would like to install her this weekend on the car. My questions are these: Is this pipe made to bolt right onto the stock exhaust system? And my next plan is to run a 3" Mac cat back with no cats and a 3" custom Y pipe, will I have clearance issues with the Eibach SVO lowering springs installed?

That is the exact setup I have on my 86 1E, except I'm not lowered
I can't see that you would have any clearence problems, nothing hangs lower than the original Y-pipe.
I did have to replace the ball & socket joint on the sac. downpipe --
it wouldn't seal because the flange was too close to the ball.Eric C

how are you going to convert the sac. pipe to v-band ?
Just weld a new 90, and end on it ?
Edit --- re-reading -- I have the mac 2.5" cat-backs --
Ryan Cloud is running 3" cat backs tho, I think he had to do a little work to get them to work without rubbing, his car is lowered.Eric C

Yeah, once I mount the new header/turbo in the car I will cut off the ball socket and weld this in http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=FLS
I might also need to add a flex pipe or elbow to it to make it all fit properly.
