  • Dash panel inquiry...please read.

I am in the process of getting the equipment to restore the fuzzy dash panels in the SVO to "as new" condition. I would like to know if anyone is interested in having theirs restored and how much you think it is worth. The only difficulty I am having at the moment is getting the correct gray color for the flock material. I may have to custom mix some, but even that presents a problem as every can of "SVO charcoal" paint or dye I have ever ordered was a slightly different shade from the other.

At this point, I have redone one in black (get off me, mine were trashed and not SVO spec. anyway) and they look pretty damned nice if I may say so myself.

    Dang, that's great!!!

I'm for sure not going to rag on you for having a black dash panel, as long as you dont tell anyone that the trim on my lower window molding is black

as far as a price... I would think you could buy some old non-svo specific ones, and do them, and sell them for anywhere between 25-45 bucks.

or have a refurb offer for a little less ???

That is the worst part about setting up for something small like this, it costs $$$, and since it isn't required for the car to run, and then only your enthusiasts are going to pay for those types of parts/services

BTW: Even Ford's charcoal (inside and out) color differed quite a bit between cars..

      Fuzzy Dash Refurb

I would certainly pay $50 to have mine restored back to new condition. Please let me know when you are ready to do them.

Well, here is the deal. I am able to do some now, but I am not going to take any orders until I can get some consistency with application and pile depth. I have ordered a "precision" flocking gun, but it will probably be about 3-4 weeks until it arrives. The unit I am using now is really geared more towards, oh, I don't know, flocking a christmas tree. I did a set of panels in black flock and they look ok, but I would not want to charge for these yet.

I will let you know when I get the equipment and am able to get consistent results. Then I'll shoot you a price and we can go from there.
