  • factory locking nuts

I have a set of the factory supplied locking lug nuts that are still in the part numbered package with the key, registration card and lug wrench. Is this a rare item? I have never seen them at a show or anythinig like that but then I haven't seen many SVOs period so what do I know. I was considering opening the package and putting them to work but then realized that they may actually hold some value to someone with a stock show type car. Anyone got a set? Rare item or just a throw it in the trunk and leave them there part?

Does this mean no one has them, no one has seen them or no one cares?

Actually just wanted to post because I saw I had 99 posts and wanted to break 100.... Yeah!

    Finally did that Avatar too.

    Carry on.

      SVO Wheel Lock Nuts

SVO locking lug nuts are unique to the SVO and no longer available from Ford or McGard. A NOS set in the unopened package would be a valuable comodity to someone who needed a set for their restoration.

An add in the classified section would be appropriate if you chose to sell.

I had them on my 85 when I bought the car in Feb this year. The wrench (tool) was gone, but the little manilla envelope it came in was in the spare tire area. I went to Ford, and they can still get the tool for them. I had them take them off so I could change the tires.

One can still get replacement keys from McGard with the correct number.

OK, got a few pics, check it out. The nuts are still in the plastic bag unopened with four clip on tire weights. The package is a bit greasy but still in OK shape.

I have gotten a few PMs about buying the lug nut set. I am not really ready to sell them right now. I am fixing an 84 2A with 61K miles that has not run in ten years. It is a very original beautifully date coded car and I thought this would be a neat item to keep with it.

I may decide to sell both though as I am building a new house (with 31/2 car detached garage) and I would probably rather have a lift and a nicer compressor than another SVO. Especially one that I cannot flog on the daily commute each day.

IF I decide to sell I will most certainly post them in the classified section with a price before going elsewhere.

I have a NOS locking lug nut set just like yours. If it helps out on the rarity part, yours is the only other one I've seen. Never seen one on ebay either.
