What is the part number for the fog lamp bulbs?? Are they H4's or was I told wrong. I have one out and want to replace it.

Unfortunately our fog bulbs are somewhat of an "oddball" type (yeah, what's new). They are the H2 style, not H4, so you were given incorrect info.

The H2 style is almost defunct now in the bulb world, so you may have a hard time finding them locally, but they are usually available from on-line/catalog places. I came across some a few years ago locally and bought some extra for spares. HTH.

And a good FAQ at that!

Another note on these from my past experience: Keep the bulb and bulb base contacts clean! I can't stress this enough.

If the contact surfaces get corroded you will increase the contact resistance which can lead to premature bulb and fog light switch failure due to excessive current amperage. I know because both have happened to me as well as two other Mustang friends.

A sure sign that the contacts are getting dirty is if your bulb base spring arms are pitted or discolored. A friend's bulb went out and when we pulled it apart to change it, it was missing 60% of one of the spring arms. Looking at it closely revealed that it had vaporized due to arcing between the bulb and it, since the main contact plate was badly corroded. You can clean the contacts with a little fine steel wool or a ScotchBrite pad then coat the contact with dielectric grease to prevent the surface from corroding.

Lastly, do not touch the bulb's glass surface with your hands. The oil from your hands will cause a hot spot on the surface and cause early failure. If you do touch it, clean it with a degreaser like brake cleaner and dry it with a soft cloth. Good luck and stay lit.

            lights

I have found the H2 bulbs at my local Autozone parts store, they go for about $7.00 and are made by Sylvania I believe. Hope this helps!

              Fog Lamp Bulbs

Check out the JC Whitney Catalog. If they're the correct ones, they're only $5 each.

I found Bulbs at the local MotorCraft dealer. They are a Wagner 55w/12v Bulb. The part number is: BP1255/H2. It retailed for $11.00 each. I found the ones on J. C. Whitney with a SKU Number of ZX148275U, $4.99 ea., and here is the link:
Replacement Bulb in J. C. Whitney Catalog . Hope this Helps

                    H2 Bulb

I just purchased a new bulb from Advanced. Had to order it for "next day" but that was no big deal. AZ in my area couldn't even order them (they said).

                      Marchal foglamp bulbs

I found a cheaper place to buy the H-2 bulbs from than Autozone or J.C Whitney. The company is called Susquehanna Motorsports. They sell the Hella brand H-2 bulbs for 3.50 each for the 55 Watt ones and 6.65 each for the 100 Watt ones. I don't recommend the 100 Watt bulbs ( To much heat from them). The website address is www.rallylights.com . I need to order some more from them myself!! And the nice thing is that they ship USPS Priority mail instead of UPS on the small orders!
