Timing Marks 84 vs. 86

Are the timing marks on an 86 the same as on an 84?

My 86 is missing most of the timing marks but my 84 is near perfect. Also I have a Chiltons manual and it looks like they have the BTDC reveresed. Does this make any sense or have I just been drinking too much

the same timing belt covers work for 84-86 SVO's, and all other 2.3's...
