  • Brake cooling ducts?

I have heard of some people removeing there fog lights and installing cooling ducts for front brakes. Has anyone here done this? Is there a kit available?
Since the Marchal's and covers are such an expense to replace I haven't really ever taken the covers off (except for shows). I want to take mine off but I figure I should do something with the holes, and it would look really cool while serving a purpose. Any opinions and comments are welcome.
    Thanks John

Removing the foglights and installing brake ducts is no big job and is easy to do.

The cheapest way is to go to the store and buy some dryer duct and large zip ties. position the duct in the fog light hole and zip tie it to the body and frame and it is done. I also used some dark colored duct tape to seal around the opening and the dryer duct.

I also removed the dust shields from my front brakes to let more air in. The ducts make a huge difference when you run open track like we will at the Reunion.

The SVO wheels hold in a lot of heat and anything that you can do to get the heat out of there helps.

My 86 has ducts going in through the openings. Also some custom built plates that bolt up where the dust shield did and the ducts clamp directly to them venting the air directly to the inside of the rotors. Really cool setup. The rears also have ducting to them. Took off the SVO spats and replaced them with some modified GT spats and ran ducting to the rear rotors.

        Good Luck!
Hoping to get on the track soon

          Brake Cooing Ducts

Thank you all for your quick response.
TY- I have my stock wheels on so this is why I want to do this. Do you have any pics of your setup?
Vince- Modified GT spats 87-93 for the rear correct? That sounds interesting as I was wondering what to do about the rear. Do you have any pics of your setup?
          Thanks again John
