I haven't used the pipe, but these are just my observations.

That is an ATR downpipe. It does have a nice bracket that supports the pipe at the stock transmount location.

This pipe attaches to the turbo and replaces the stock elbow so make sure it has a bung for the O2 sensor.

Yep, definetly an ATR DP. I have the Sac. Must. DP on my car. Which IMO works very well. It attaches to the stock elbow unlike the ATR DP which eliminates the stock elbow thus it as the watesgate built into the DP.

        Mounting of Sac DP

OK, was test fitting up the Sac Mustang DP last night and it actually fits pretty well. A couple of observations/ questions.

        1) I don't sense the connection at the elbow is a very good one. The flange seems bigger than the turbo elbow and is slotted larger than the studs on the elbow so it seems to have the ability to move around up there and leak. Also, due to the pipe's larger diameter size, it makes accessing the studs difficult with a deep socket. Seems like the tightening would be best done with an open end wrench, which has some clearance issues itself. Anyone have issues with this?

        2) Some complained that the connection to the Y-pipe was not that good. That the mandrel bent bell at the end did not fit the female bowl in the Y-pipe (technical terms). In my case the fit looks pretty good.

        3) The factory intermediate hanger (under the tranny mount) needed some adjustment as it hung down directly in the path the new DP wanted to take.

Other than that, seem like a good piece!

I have the ATR downpipe on my car with a Tial waistgate (The ATR waistgate was crap) and it does have an 02 sensor bung. The pipe seems to work great and I've had it on now for 3+ years. I did have to slightly "clearance" the firewall with a rubber mallet and a 2x4. Nothing noticable though.

Here is a review I posted some time ago.

I also had the SAC downpipe on my car before the ATR piece. I thought it was quality as well.

When I installed the 3 inch downpipe on my car, I encountered the problem of not being able to get a deep socket on the nuts. The solution is to use a "crows foot" socket. It is slower, but works.

              Can't Help Myself.

Just a reminder. I have the ATR race pipe “aka cat delete” and ATR y-pipe that attaches very nicely to the end of that. If anyone is interested.

actually, my gripe is that the flange is too close to the ball -- the flange hit the -Y-pipe socket way before the ball was seated in far enough to not leak. Aparently I am the only one that has seen that problem, so I am assuming that it was just something with the pipe I had.

My Y-pipe was stock, so I can only assume it was a screw-up on the down-pipe.

Henson, are you selling the Y-pipe? and if so how much do you want for it?

Yes, I’m asking the standard ATR price. That is 150.00 for both. I’ll eat the tax & shipping that I already paid. I made these pieces for my car because of interference with the suspension (torque arm). Thus they’re new. Due to the fact ATR is out of business, I’m sure someone will take these sometime. If not, I’ll chop them up and use the material on something.

If you come down. I’ll make you a deal.

I don’t normally do this for the Michigan People! Go Bucks!

Ha, actually, I am in Marion OH, now for business. Where are you? So, you won't separate? Or will you take $75 for the Y?

There is more than $75 just in materials in that Y-Pipe. Henson's craftsmanship is impeccable. It's worth more than that (Just ask his wife!).
