    Hi All,
I was reading my copy of the "Mustang 5.0L Tech Reference & Performance Handbook"the otherday looking for any info and came up with some info on SVO seats.

It would appear that the original SVO seats were produced by "Lear-Siegler" (later Lear Seating Corporation). These seats were also used in the '84-1/2 20th Anniversary models and in various other guises (GT & LX 5.0L) until 1993, but it would appear that the SVO's were the only Mustangs that ever came with the adjustable lumbar support. HTH

    Regards
    Chris

The articulated seats used in the Mustang GT and 20th Annny and optional in the LX are similar to, but not exactly like the SVO seats.

Anybody who has sat in both will tell you there is a world of difference between the way the 2 seats fit. There is just no comparison between the SVO seat and the others. Even though they don't look much different they are!

It was the same Lear who built the jets.

I know they're not Mustang's (close to the same seats) but, the early TC's (83'-84') had manual adjustable lumbar support also. The later TC's (85'-88') had power adjustable lumbar support.

            Interesting!

I own 3 1/2 84 gt350 anny's with the canyon red cloth articulated seats and none of them has pump up lumbars. Nor does my 84 GT Turbo vert with the same canyon red/articulated cloth seat interior.

None of my anniversary cars have pumps either.

You guys who goto Carlisle know that one of Lear's factories is there... I had a stop there once, Schneider does some accounts for the Big 3. I was also on an run from Greenville, Nc to Lorain, Oh to Ford.

Well, hit them up for some fabric or NOS parts!
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

Yeah, for years I always wondered if they were the airplane co or what. Then they changed their signs and is said Lear seating systems. Wouldnt that be a gas if they still had some of the old stuff just lying around in there gathering dust?
