    voltage settings..

So, I was in a strange reading mood last night and read about 4 books on ford fuel injection and stuff, including the Chilton manual I have.

I found in the Chilton manual where it says to set the TPS on V8 and 2.3cyl engines... for 5.0 V8's it says to set it at like .2 volts and 2.3 motors it says to set it at .34 volts...WTF??? that can't be right. Everywhere else in the world it says to set the V8 ones to .95-.98v and the 2.3 ones to .90-.91v or so.

anyone have another manual that has these settings in it? just curious why it's off so much or if it's just a huge mistake on their part. where is it stated to set the TPS to where everyone is setting it?

The computer looks to start things at 1volt, so the recommendation is to set them at close to 1v, so that the computer knows when you are hitting the loud pedal. Setting it to .34 would leave a lot of pedal before the computer thought you were revving the engine

it's strange, but the fuel injection book says it doesn't matter what you set the TPS at as long as it's below 1.1v because it zero's itself out each time you cycle the ignition.. oh well, just curious.

That would be nice if it were true...

Perhaps they mean the non adjustable TPS units? Was the EEC software changed then?

glad to see this explained, cause ive been chasing a hanging idle forever. might be able to fix it now without dicking around with chasing down a new TPS.

What you talkin about Alex, you told me that you work from home.
Is it to far for you to walk to your computer or what. Oh, I get it, you are being silly, just like when I feed you some Crown Royal at the reunion, lol.
