Anyone know when someone might reproduce the 1985.5, 1986 headlights?

I really would like to get my car street legal again.

They've been in reproduction for years.

Ken is correct, Daniel Carpenter has been reproducing them for a while now. You can't buy them direct from DC, only from places that carry his parts. Here is a listing from DC's website that lists all the reproduction parts, now finding someone with stock may be challenge, but at least it is a place to start.

    Good luck.

I'd try Paul at www.svpu.com for starters.

If Paul doesn't have them, then I believe NPD or 5.0 resto or Fox mustang restoration---one of them probably sell them.

I just sent an email to DC Mustang for dealers of their SVO Parts. I'll let you know what I find.

I think I have already tried all those places with no luck. I have called so many places I have forgotten who I have called. :-)

But just to be sure I will email all the places listed.

    Thank you

I emailed Lisa at DC Mustang and she said they had none in stock and doubted any of the dealers had any on their shelves. I know I have called or emailed probably 30 plus companies with no luck. I guess I need to see if anyone knows if any aftermarket headlight will fit with no modifications. Otherwise it may have to be parked for a few years till someone reproduces them again.

Your best bet is to put in the 84-85 setup, which does bolt into the existing header panel. I am sure someone has noted the parts required on here somewhere, as you are not the first one to run into this problem.

That's what she told me over the phone today.

I have done several searches with no luck. Someone said I need Aerostar headlights and the backing plate but they would have to be modified. If you know a way to do the 84 or 85 headlights and what parts I would appreciate that information and perhaps it should be made a sticky. Because it looks like this may be an issue for several more years.

ok, the Aerostar 'aero style' lights will not fit in an SVO. You can source the buckets from an Aerostar, to do the 84-85 conversion, but the newer Aerostar lights will not fit an SVO.

I'd been looking for a new set as well, and they are very hard to find. You can find NOS ones easier than you can find the reproductions.

What are Original NIB 86 buckets worth?
