    86' SVO Checking In

I've been on the forums for a little bit, so I thought I'd bring everyone up to speed on why I'm here.

I wasn't really aware of SVOs until 2-3 years ago. Two years ago I saw an ad on Craigslist for an 84' GT350 Anniversary. I went out to see it (it was out in the boonies off the grid) and came to find out the guy was selling his brother's Fox Body collection (his brother passed away). Also in the collection were two convertibles, one turbo and the other a 5.0. There were also two 86' SVOs, but the red one had already sold. So I see the white one (the one I own now) and I ask it it's for sale. He says probably, so I look it over and he says "do you want to drive it?" Duh! Once the drive was over and I burned a few corners, I was sure I wanted it. I told him I'd get back to him in the morning, but that I was sure I was going to buy it. The next morning I get an email from his wife and she says he couldn't sleep the night before and that he decided not to sell it (bummer). Jump forward to about a month ago and I'm on the phone talking to him about his military career (I collect militaria and like military history) and he asks if I'm still interested in the SVO. Yep! Five days later the deal is done. Leather interior and sun roof with 59k original miles (his brother had the collection in a warehouse for about 10 years). The mileage in 91' when his brother bought it was 51k, so only 8k miles in the last 26 years.

Liking it a lot, and my friend who's a die hard Chevy guy, he likes it a lot too.

Always an interesting story behind an SVO purchase. Congrats on getting yours and hope you enjoy it for years to come. I picked mine up back in '91 with 57K on the clock, just about to turn over 118K, so I have been busy driving it around.

Already done. It was also registered by the previous owner in the early 90s.
