    86 4E with 400ish HP $7500 Firm

Well I've tried to keep it off the radar hoping to sell to a few SVO guys who showed interest through word of mouth. Everybody has backed out or otherwise changed their minds so here goes:

86 4E with approximately 400HP. I did not build this. I bought it as a favor from Chris Doughtie just before he died from Pancreatic Cancer several years ago. The engine has pretty much everything that can be done to an SVO.

    Short list:

Essy aluminum head with unknown camshaft.
    Bob's log header.
    Large turbo.
    FMIC.

It is a complete and running SVO but is a little rough. There is some minor damage to the hood and driver's side fender. There is also a rough spot on the roof. It has lowering springs but I have the original springs to go with it. The brakes are starting to lock up from sitting but it will start and drive around the neighborhood.

Depending on where you look Ford built either 13 or 15 4Es and I've been told by Kendal it is the only one with a sunroof. To build the engine alone is at least $7500 if not more. So buying it gets you a 400ish HP SVO and a 4E on top of that.

I will say that I am very picky about who I will sell it too. It needs to remain a 4E. Somebody could buy it, remove the aftermarket engine parts, sell them and use that money to restore it to original. I REALLY wanted to keep it but life changes have made me do it. I can give more details over the phone so send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number.

Ken, according to the stuff I got from Ford Performance Group, there were 15 sage green's and one with a sunroof. Looks like yours is it. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks I always went with 15 built. I had just seen others claim it was 13. Thank you again for storing it for me back then.

Roof and interior pics. The headliner has come down ( of course ) and the dash pad has one crack of the driver's side. Has A pillar gauges.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I just read your PM and the short block is original to this car. It is VIN stamped of course so it needs to stay with the car. Thanks anyway.

NOT 100% sure of what you may have been asking, but asking someone to part out a running (and RARE) SVO, is the kind of thing that gets you banned here.

Reply to Eric:I was inquiring as to who built the engine and more detail. I have a 68,000 mile '86 SVO that is in beautiful original condition. Runs well, but with a bit of a tired engine( two hot rodding Previous Owners ). I was thinking of switching engines.I am not aware that SVO engines are in anyway identified by the VIN number. Thanks,Rick

Ricky -- so you asked an owner, to part out a running SVO.
you asked him to take parts out of a running SVO, that would make it a non-running SVO.

THAT's why he didn't answer you, and that's not something we like to see here. PRESERVATION of the SVO, means we need to keep as many on the road as possible. IF we don't do that, we can't get manufacturers to reproduce parts (headlights for example)
