A low mileage black SVO...not Jalapeno Red...be still my heart!! Certainly looks the part of a 1400 mile example, but the Lotus price is a bit of a surprise. I think that his the highest I have ever seen one listed for, regardless of mileage or history.

Very nice looking car. Wasn't Mark Haas looking for a 86 black sunroof car with cloth interior?

Looks like it's been refreshed under the hood. Wrong radiator overflow tank and foam rubber insulation on AC line. It may just be a service replacement AC line.

Ken, good eyes on the overflow, very close but not the same as mine. I wonder if it had discolored over time and they wanted something looking more unused, also could be the fact with the A/C line insulation.

The strap is to hold the sunroof when it is out. I have one on mine.

The tank is 84 through 85.5 the 86s are square top.

The 2R is my old Barrett-Jackson 85.5 the 7B is my 86 ( of course ) before it was finished. As we know the tanks will yellow over time and isn't dependent on mileage. The 2R is original and the 7B is NOS.

Ugh, it's been "rust proofed." It would be nice to have the original battery in the car, even if it's inop instead of a Farm and Fleet battery.

Best of luck to the shop selling that SVO and hope it goes to a good home. I am curious to know where they came up with that valuation on the car? Even if you use the Dennis Collins sales recently, this one jumps way above those Fox/SVO examples.

As for overflow bottles, here is what mine looked like back in 2002, not much different today other than being a bit more yellowed and running an Everlast battery rather than the Motorcraft (noted for Mike ):

Based on the VIN, 1FABP28T0GF104595, that is a very early '86 and the early style bottle would be correct. Not sure when the change occurred, but I have seen several early build cars, including one that I used to own, with that style bottle.

I do see some "newer" coolant hose clamps... oem clamps have a "black" zinc type finish.

Yep I didn't consider it might have a left over tank. Since it is just a regular 4 cylinder and not SVO specific. I had also noticed the incorrect screw style hose clamps and not the correct Tower style.
